Writer/Reporter (Overnight)

Role Purpose: The Writers/Reporters play a critical and high-profile role in setting the morning agenda for the broader digital operation.

Job Duties:

  • Set the morning agenda for the broader digital operation through the FoxNews.com website, newsletters, and early morning alerts
  • Identify and highlight unseen original story angles where others can’t
  • Work under breaking news deadlines to turn crisp, clean, compelling copy for overnight and early-morning shifts

Basic Qualifications:

  • Three years daily journalism experience, with specific experience in both rewriting and turning original stories in breaking news environment
  • Proven ability to write sharp copy, on the tightest of deadlines
  • Effective multitasking also a key requirement, as reporters must be able to work quickly and efficiently
  • Strong understanding of current events, across a wide range of subjects
  • Ability to work well under high-pressure environment both alone, and in a team
  • Understanding and experience with social media, turning SEO-friendly copy and headlines
