Freelance Master Control Operator

Fox News Radio seeks a Freelance Radio Master Control Technical Operator to assist Operations staff with solutions to transmission technical problems.

Responsibilities: 

  • Troubleshoot audio/video problems
  • Comprehend equipment and techniques in the area of radio broadcast hardware and automation systems, satellite/fiber transmission and affiliate relations
  • Program all commercials into radio automation systems for daily playback
  • Run hourly transmit and receive for Fox News Radio Broadcasts
  • Provide cross training of peers on all broadcast equipment
  • Communicate with non-technical personnel to resolve equipment issues

Requirements:  

  • 3 to 5 years of radio experience
  • Experience operating a board during live news broadcasts as well as talk shows
  • Working knowledge of Windows, Mac, Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe Audition, ENCO, and Pro Tools
  • Well versed in the latest radio technologies
  • Willing to work flexible hours including weekends in a fast-paced, exciting news environment
  • Ability to operate technical equipment (including ENCO automation systems, digital workstations, Comrex, Tieline, Telos ISDN Interfaces, intercom systems, recording devices, audio consoles, and adobe audition/pro-tools)
  • Learn new broadcast technologies and increase knowledge of existing systems
  • Good understanding of system design
  • Ability to create and follow signal flow drawings
  • Strong computer skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and tasks at once
  • Ability to make decisions quickly under pressure
  • Communicate effectively in writing and verbally
  • Ability to work in a team oriented environment
