Freelance Audio Newsgatherer

Role Purpose: Freelance Audio Newsgatherers are responsible for quickly locating and producing the most relevant sound bites for our Terrestrial Radio News operation. This position is up to 20 hours/week and the schedule varies week to week.  

Job Duties:

  • Conduct interviews
  • Find sound bites
  • Produce radio wraps
  • Assemble audio montages
  • Write intros to audio news clips

Basic Qualifications:

  • Solid news judgment and excellent writing skills
  • Familiar with Cool Edit/Adobe Audition and iNews
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and high-pressure newsroom environment
