As a Freelance Audio Newsgatherer, you are quick on your feet to find the perfect addition to a story. You will be counted on to quickly locate and produce the most relevant soundbites for our Terrestrial Radio News operation. This role requires that you are able to work up to 20 hours a week, with the schedule varying week to week.

You will be assigned the following shift:
Saturday and Sunday 2:30PM-10:30PM EST

A snapshot of your responsibilities include:

  • You will conduct interviews
  • You will locate soundbites and assemble audio montages
  • Writing introductions to audio news clips
  • Producing radio wraps


  • You have a solid knowledge of news.
  • You have great editorial judgment.
  • You have excellent writing skills.
  • You are familiar with Cool Edit/Adobe Audition and iNews.
  • You thrive in a fast-paced and high-pressure newsroom environment.
