We are looking for an experienced Senior JavaScript Engineer to join our Fox News family. As the Senior JavaScript Engineer you will lead the development of high traffic JavaScript applications and implement front end user design that defines the behavior of the visual elements of the Fox News digital properties. You are an advocate of JavaScript best practices and web standards and have a passion to keep learning the latest technologies.

A snapshot of your responsibilities:

  • Develop new software applications from concept to finish
  • Run regular tests and maintenance on new software applications
  • Guarantee the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs.
  • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability.
  • Evaluate and implement advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks as needed.
  • Understand asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.

Requirements:

  • 3+ year of expert level JavaScript development
  • You have a consistent track record of developing, web applications using JavaScript
  • Heavy AJAX-driven development experience
  • Solid knowledge of JavaScript quirks and workarounds, SQL, ORM technologies.
  • Deep understanding of compatibility issues across browsers.
  • You have experience with performing QA tests alongside development
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects in a dynamic development environment
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work with and mentor other developers
