Producer, Northeast Bureau

Role Purpose:

The Northeast Bureau Producer works hand-in-hand with correspondents generating story ideas, setting up interviews, researching and gathering information.  Candidates must be willing and confident in their ability to respond to and cover breaking news as it happens.  Assignments develop/change on a moment's notice; candidates must be willing and able to work weekends, late nights and travel last minute as needed.

Job Duties:

  • Produce reporter live shots for daytime, primetime and weekend programming
  • Produce packages
  • Handle everything from story pitch to production, including research, collecting elements, writing and supervising edit
  • Work with television news crews in the field to cover events and prepare live reports in and around the Northeast region

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of network or major broadcast experience
  • Adept at producing both live shots and packages
  • Strong communication and writing skills
  • Flexibility, versatility and excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize is a necessity
  • Ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced 24-hour news environment
