Fox News Channel is looking for a highly motivated and proactive Overnight Homepage Editor to join our team. As the Overnight Homepage Editor you will be responsible for programming the Foxnews.com homepage. You have a phenomenal sense of editorial judgment and desire to work in a creative, demanding and competitive environment. You will deliver a quality product in a fast-paced 24-hour news environment.

Candidates must be able to work the overnight schedule: 10:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. Eastern time (7:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m. Pacific time)  

A snapshot of your responsibilities:

  • Write engaging, SEO-friendly headlines for the homepage
  • You will use a mix of editorial judgment and metrics to determine the placement of stories on the homepage
  • Write breaking news banners and continually update story headlines in a breaking/developing news scenario
  • Write stories and send alerts as needed
  • Participate in broader strategic discussions

 

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • 2+ years’ newsroom experience
  • Prior experience running a homepage for a national or local news site
  • Strong knowledge of news and current events.
  • Experience writing on deadline for a major news organization.
  • Ability to fill in on other shifts when demanded by breaking news or other editorial responsibilities
  • You are a skilled, fast writer and self-editor with strong AP Style skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in journalism
