Freelance Producer, DC Bureau


Fox News is looking for a highly motivated, pro-active, and creative freelance producer to work with our team in the Washington, DC Bureau. As a freelance producer, you will be expected to work hand-in-hand with correspondents generating story ideas, setting up interviews, researching and gathering information. Qualified candidates will be able to work on daily news packages for Special Report w/ Bret Baier and produce reporter live shots for daytime and primetime programming. Candidates must be able to work well under pressure, possess strong communication skills and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced 24-hour news environment. Candidates must be willing to work long hours, weekends and nights. Knowledge of or experience covering national politics and/or Congress is a plus.


  • Bachelor’s degree and 6+ years of broadcast news experience
  • Strong editorial judgment as well as strong logistical skills
  • Knowledge of national politics and the DC area
  • The ability to work well in a fast paced and intense atmosphere
  • Strong writing skills
  • Familiarity with iNews a plus
  • Flexibility to work various day/night/weekend shifts
  • Motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize is a necessity
  • Understanding of tapeless workflow in a newsroom
