Job Description:
Fox News, the number one rated cable news network for six years running, is building a team of IT and Broadcast professionals to support our new digital media platform. This server based system will revolutionize our news production workflow, totally changing the way we acquire, ingest, edit, play and archive video content for Fox News and Fox Business cable and new media properties. As part of this team you will be exposed to all aspects of the news gathering and digital media process. The ideal candidate will have worked in a 24/7 production support environment, is comfortable working with end users, can multitask and brings a positive attitude with them to work each day.
Job overview:
The Application Architect will be responsible for the successful delivery of MAM solutions to the FNC and FBN Digital Newsroom systems. The candidate should understand the business challenges and translate them into system, application or process designs. The candidate should also provide leadership in vendor management, business case development, business process design, development, integration and testing for the MAM solution.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Oversees day-to-day operation of the application server instance(s)
• Installs and configures application software
• Manages the deployment of appropriate security patches, hot fixes, and software updates
• Manages database user accounts, roles, and permissions
• Monitors performance and tunes the applications for best performance
• Keeps up-to-date documentation of application installations
• Work with the application and project teams to formulate requirements.
• Provide on-call production support on a large 24×7 operation.
Knowledge, skills, and abilities:
• Candidates should have 3-5 years experience with MAM solutions for the broadcast industry
• Demonstrated hands-on experience in full lifecycle development projects.
• Ardendo architecture experience.
• Digital media industry
• Linux database administrator
• Verbal and written communication and presentation skills
• Application Design
• Strong Java
• Preferred candidates will have at least 7 years experience in application development, web development
• Familiarity with DART ingest scheduling
